Paper Presentation Contest : Topic : ICT Trends 2020 and beyond
The Computing and Information Technology
industry has witnessed an unprecedented growth over the last five years.
Internet and mobiles have redefined the way we communicated and transacted.
Businesses exploit the potential of social media. Cloud computing has thrown
open myriad opportunities for everyone.
The convention ICT Trends 2020 and beyond will focus on innovation in technology and
trendsetting initiatives in applications. Here is an opportunity to showcase your innovation.
eWIT invites papers of original
work that pertain to technology or applications of ICT in any of the areas
relating to industry or academic institutions or individuals. Your innovation
should either solve a problem or improve an existing solution or improve the
life of someone. The paper should state what problem is
getting addressed, solution proposed. In addition, explain how this solution is
to be implemented. You can use any of the existing or emerging technology.
The paper will be judged based on originality,
how realistic and futuristic your solution is. You will get bonus points if you
have thought through the implementation and state the issues that may arise and
how one needs to overcome these issues.
The participation can be on an individual or
a group basis. A group submission can have a maximum of three members. Go ahead
and work on your paper. You do not have much time..
Scope and Rules for Written
Presentation
· Paper should be presented by one representative of the group
· Paper should be presented in .doc or .pdf format (if you have
docx format, pls. convert to .doc and submit)
· Your file name format should be your name.doc (for eg. Mala.doc)
· Presentation should have a cover page containing topic, your name,
College / University name, Department, etc. with full address
· The next page should contain your brief profile with your photograph
· Subsequent page should carry executive summary of the paper not
exceeding 250 words
· Total paper presentation should be between 2500 to 3500 words
· Should be typed, double spaced leaving 3 cms margin all the four
side
· Font should be Times New Roman, 12 point
· Pages should be numbered
· Charts, diagrams, etc. may be included to support any research
work or data collection
· Plagiarism - inclusion of other peoples' work to substantiate a
point being made should be appropriately acknowledged. Source & name of
author will have to be mentioned in the Bibliography. However, no direct 'cut
and paste' is allowed. If 'cut and paste' from sources acknowledged or not
acknowledged are found, the paper will be rejected.
· Should contain a Bibliography at the end stating actual sources of
references

written presentations in each category will be selected for oral
presentation
Scope and Rules for Oral
presentation
· Based on evaluation of written presentations, selected individuals
will be called for the oral presentation before the panel on Aug 24, 2013. The
panel will evaluate the oral presentation and choose the winners based on the
scores of their evaluation of both written and oral presentation. Results will
be announced on the same day or the following day.
· Those selected for oral presentation in each category will be informed
5-7 days before their scheduled presentation
· Oral presentation can be presented by individuals only. Each participant will get a total of 20
minutes for the oral presentation as well as the discussion. First 12 minutes
will be used for presentation and the subsequent 8 minutes will be used for
discussion with the panel of judges.
· After the first 10 minutes of the presentation, there will be an
indication of remaining 2 minutes to complete the presentation. If any
participant stretches the presentation beyond the time limit of 12 minutes,
there will be negative marking for same.
· The LCD projector and Laptop will be provided
· Order of presentation will be drawn by lot

Poster Competition Contest : Topic : Gadgets for Communication in 2020
Open to all students who have a creative urge and have a futuristic vision as to how Gadgets for Communication will look like in 2020.
Will Technology and Communication converge in the future enabling seamless communication with people?
Let your imagination flow!
Things to keep in mind as you design the Gadget:
What to design on? : Let your imagination come alive in a standard
size chart paper.
How to create the design?: Use colors using paint or crayons or any other
suitable material.
To create your gadget using
a digital medium, feel free to ‘cut and paste’ from any interesting object.
Write a short description of no more than 50 words describing your
gadget.
Participation in the eWIT Students convention automatically qualifies the
student to be a part of the Poster Competition.
The creators of best posters would get prizes.

Entry Rules and Evaluation Methods for the Poster Competition:
Students entering the eWIT
Academic Excellence Poster Competition will exhibit their posters during the
Academic Event and judges appointed by eWIT will judge the posters at the venue
of the Students convention.
Ø Awards
for student posters will be announced and presented at the eWIT Academic Event
at the end of the day.
Ø Each
poster is judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme.
Ø Please
register yourself for the competition on the site(www.ewit.co.in ) on or before Aug 25th, 2013
or visit the Registration tab in this site
Ø There
is no entry fee
Ø Posters
will be made on regular white chart paper (not smaller or larger)
Ø You
can use any medium – oil paint, crayons, etc. – to make posters
Ø Please
bring the completed poster with you to the event
Ø Please
mention the topic given by eWIT (refer eWIT site) of the poster on top
Ø Please
mention your Registration no., Name, College, Contact details at the bottom of
the poster
Ø Volunteers
from eWIT will guide you with the display details.
Ø Posters
must be the original design and creation of the entrant(s).
Ø In
submitting a poster, students agree that the poster may be displayed at the
eWIT’s Annual Academic Event, other eWIT events/ meetings, featured in any of
its publications, and included on its website.
Ø All
entries become the property of eWIT and cannot be returned
Ø Students
may work individually or in teams. The maximum number of students per team is
two.
Ø Write
your name(s), Institution name, Department & year of Study on the bottom
right hand corner of your poster.
